I have looked at other maps, I have done the comparisons, I've recovered paths and at 98%, I can't find my missing places. Seems doing this for the Tryian map was easier. I know others are further along but if someone could take a look and see what my old tired eye's are missing, I would be greatful. Thanks in advance.

please before you take a screen of your "M" map, press shift + ctrl + h, then screen, then the same buttons again
this will make outposts and unwanted 'c' in places
then i can compare

I did as you requested. Thank you for the help. I know I have some places in the challenge mission, although I didn't think I needed that area for the map to be 100% clear.

I have absolutely no idea, how you can find anything on those foggy maps.
Any more suggestions about those shots I've posted?

Despite having my plea for help overlooked I finally managed to get to 100% by myself.
Some tips for those still trying for this title:
* When I did this I sort-of used the alt-tab method, but instead I used an image layer in my graphics editor and put the 100% map on one layer and my own map on another, by simply showing/hiding layers it was much easier for me (since my PC lags and takes ages to alt-tab).
* The last spot for me was outside Moddok Crevice, if you thoroughly map the entire area outside the outpost you should be able to see a fair way up past the caverns.
* Some spots around the sunspear sancturary LOOK as if they would be revealed by simply walking up to the portal, but when you try they do not. Sunward marches particularly confused me because the map defogs by the portal by actually following the wall around north!
* The path between Resplendent Makuun and Wilderness of Baahdza can be fully mapped, be sure you map immediately outside both portals an carefully around the far NE corner of Makkun.
* Don't always trust 100% maps posted online, there's a little leeway in this title and the 100% map that I was referring from had bits missing that I actually had!
* The entire area around the vortex has lots of niggly places to get to.
Some Interesting Places Found:
* Go outside of the Bazaar into vehtendi valley, follow the wall to the right, if you hug it well enough you'll actually go through a wall and into a little area behind a house.
* In the north part of Pogahn Passage you can actually go through a rock!
* If you go to Crystal Overlook you can see a bit of the Arid Sea in Tyria (indicating Elona is south of Tyria), but if you use a bit of geometry the thirsty river should be roughly where the ruptured heart is!
Finally, here's my trophy

Hi Merraton...
I have some feedback and thoughts about the areas you're having difficulty uncovering. I've just had the same experience in the southwest corner of Crystal Overlook (your image #6) that I had with the Istan inlet/lake (your image #5). When I first went through the Crystal Overlook area I hugged the walls but didn't uncover that same bit of fog you've got. So I went back through last night and tried everything but it still won't budge.
I'm wondering what your screen rez is because I'm wondering if rez doesn't have something to do with the fact some people (like you and me) can't uncover bits that other people (like Silent Vex) can. My max screen rez on my laptop is 1024 x 768.
Fortunately, I have three spots uncovered on my map that aren't uncovered on his/her map (#1), so that kind of makes up for the two I can't uncover.

Does anyone know what percentage of Elona the desolation is? I haven't explored any of it yet, but have explored all of the rest of Elona. I'm currently at 78.8% and I want to know if I'm on track.

I'm at 98.4% right now, and I have a bit of the Dynastic Tombs mapped, but I would prefer to have to plunge into that mission as little as possible. Therefore I'd like to find other small places on my map:
High-res U-map JPGs:
Istan (1.7MB)
Mainland (6.7MB)
Thanks!

I took a stab at your Istan map. I found a few spots. It wasn't easy. Kudos to those generous and talented citizens on this forum who do this consistently!
I'll try my hand at your Elona map tomorrow night.

Ow! I've been stabbed!
Thanks!
This is a Canthan character, so that little bit around island of Shekah I won't be able to unfog, but that should be fine. There's more than enough for 100% on the map anyway
Just a reminder, I'm aware I don't have all of the PacMan mission mapped, I'm trying to avoid mapping as much of that as possible.

I'm using 1280x1024 resolution. I gave up trying for the time being. It's too frustrating. On this weekend I'll focus on getting keys and rare stuff, and go back to exploring on monday. But I still think about those spots :/

Unfortunately visiting those places pointed out on the new map only got me to 99.9%
I did manage to finally get a 100% copy and tried the differencing method myself and found a spot in the Cliffs zone on the Island that pushed me to 100%
Thanks again for the help!!

What map do you use as refference? (I don't think it will help me much, changing map itself won't uncover those spots I'm missing)

How does one take that picture without the clouds. I tried using the 'U' map but it doesn't zoom all the way out. I'm stumped as to where else to clear other than the 'pacman' mission. (which I've almost cleared, Finally!)

You can take many screenshots of the U map (you can drag the map around within its window) and stitch them together using Photoshop, GIMP, or the like. If you don't have the software I've seen people just post the multiple screenshots.

Well, so all those unclouded pics are stitched together?? So, I am going to have to take all those pics, stitch together, and then do an overlay thingy to see what I'm missing...geez, where are my kids when I need them, they would probably say, "gosh mom, its sooo easy!" Seems there aught to be an easier way.

I'm not sure about the unclouded zoomed-out world maps, actually. I've never been able to make those unclouded. But for detailed comparison, the U map is the way to go, though I suppose the difference method probably works on them too....
